THE NORTH SHORE

West Vancouver - Horseshoe Bay

British Columbia - Canada

Horseshoe Bay is another gem on the Northshore (one of many). It is at the same time an end and a beginning. It is the western end of the Northshore as well as the beginning of the Sea to Sky Highway to Squamish, Whistler and points beyond. A small community nestled against mountains on the edge of a sheltered bay it is primarily a busy ferry terminal with connections to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and Bowen Island.

Most businesses here cater to visitors on their way north, here for a meal and tour of this tiny delightful village-like atmosphere with great views of Howe Sound or to pick up foot passengers from the ferries. Whatever the reason it is time well spent. A real treat are the "fish 'n chips" at Trolls Restaurant at the windows or the outside patio with views of the bay.

This is also home to Sewell's Marina, an original business going back many years, that provides boats for rent, marine supplies and fishing and sightseeing excursions on Howe Sound.
